Short-Term Rehab
Bridging the gap between hospital and home
Many patients come to Central Island Healthcare for short term rehabilitation after they have been in the hospital. They may have had a stroke, surgery, heart attack, or an accident. Our specialized subacute care unit boasts a high nurse to patient ratio.
We have developed Rehabilitation and Clinical Protocols based on input from various orthopedic surgeons in order to guide our staff in caring for our patients towards complete recovery. Our goal is to rehabilitate each patient using the customized protocol set by his or her individual orthopedic surgeon, and accomplish these goals in the shortest amount of time possible. We know patients are anxious to return home, and we do everything possible to accelerate recovery.
Central Island Healthcare offers Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapy – all working together to return patients to their original level of performance. An individualized treatment plan for each patient is developed by our interdisciplinary team of doctors, therapists, nurses, dieticians, social workers, and case managers. Central Island Healthcare's short-term rehabilitation therapy is ideal for patients who are medically stable but not quite ready to go home.
